January Blog

We hope everyone had a great winter break! In December, we learned about holidays and traditions. We read the stories, "Holiday Traditions", "The Old Lady Who Swallowed a Bell", and "The Gingerbread Man". We practiced answering wh- questions, identifying objects, identifying traditions, putting objects "in", and sorting big and small as we read our stories. In pretend play, we had a tree set up that could be decorated and food to cook/bake as another tradition students could practice together. In Letterland we met Fire Fighter Fred and reviewed our previous Letterland friends. In math, we have continued practicing our counting, number identification, and shapes. In January, we will begin our winter theme while focusing on things people had in the past and what we have now.
